The Channel

The Channel is a giving circle that funds lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer, intersex and asexual (LGBTQIA+) community projects. We are 'growing the pot of gold under the rainbow' and changing the way Australians experience gender and sexuality for the better!

A rainbow giving circle

The Channel operates as a giving circle. We raise funds from a community of Members and we then run grant rounds. We accept applications, short list, and hold a Member vote on which organisation, project or individual should be the recipient of the funds raised.

We have two forms of Membership:

Membership is open to everyone. It involves making a small monthly or annual donation to one of our funds (starting at just $25 per month). 100% of Membership donations are distributed through our grant rounds.

In return for their generosity, Members not only gain voting rights as to where the funds are directed, they also become a part of The Channel community. They gain access to amazing events hosted by The Channel, and volunteering opportunities with projects it supports. The best thing about being a Member of The Channel is being able to see with your own eyes the impact your donation, along with others, has made.

So why not support the Australian rainbow community and join as a Member today?
