The Channel Giving Circle and Maurice Blackburn Lawyers invite you to an evening with US philanthropist, Sparks.
Young, queer, a woman of colour and the head of her family’s foundation in the US, Sparks’ journey has been different to that of most philanthropic leaders. Join us for an in-conversation with Sparks and other special guests to hear about the importance of diversity in philanthropy, why we should encourage it and what it means for the future of giving.
Drinks and canapes from 6:00-6:30pm, with formal proceedings to following from 6:30-7:30pm
Sparks values and is deeply committed to promoting equity in the non-profit and for-profit social impact sectors based on her experience as a queer, multi-racial, next generation, woman in the field of philanthropy. She is currently the Executive Director of the Masto Foundation, a small US-based family foundation rooted in the Japanese-American community, and a Member of the Funding Queerly Giving Circle.
Sparks is coming to Australia in partnership with The Channel, Australia’s only LGBTQIA+ Giving Circle, growing the pot of gold under the rainbow www.the-channel.org
This event is proudly supported by Maurice Blackburn, Pharaoh & Associates, and The Channel.
