100 Members in year One

The Channel opened its virtual doors in December 2016.

We have always had a goal of reaching 100 Members in Year One. Crunch time is nigh (we want to get there by 31 December 2017!), and we're at 92 Members :-O

Will you help us reach our goal of 100 Members in Year One?

It's easy - just head over to the Membership page and follow the prompts.

The Channel is Australia's first LGBTQIA+ Giving Circle

People join as Members, we pool Member donations and together, through a democratic decision making process, decide where to distribute the collective funds in the form of grants to LGBTQIA+ community projects.

We've done a lot in 12 months. We've given grants to three LGBTQIA+ community projects:

Pride in Care received $5,000: An advocacy, education and leadership organisation lead by same sex attracted and sex and gender diverse young people with an out of home care experience (that’s young people who have lived in foster care, residential care or kinship care).

A Clever Label received $10,000: An interactive, immersive documentary experience exposing the influence of the Australian Christian Lobby on our democracy and its impacts on LGBTQIA+ people.

StartOut Australia received $5,000: An online mentoring platform for LGBTQIA+ young people. With almost 85 mentors on board, they put role models in the palms of the hands of young regional and rural LGBTQIA+ people to promote positive mental health.

We've also run events to bring our community together to learn about collective philanthropy and the opportunities and challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community in Australia and globally.

Be a part of the solution to the ongoing inequality experienced by the LGBTQIA+ community in Australia. Help us reach 100 Members in Year One:
